One running gag that has gone viral is Justin’s funny interaction with his partners as they begin to incorporate a variety of items during a section of the song, “Dungka!” What started as a joke is beginning to be a running gag during their performances, and A’TIN couldn’t help but laugh at their more jovial, comical side.

Palo-palo inside joke explained

In one of the band’s backstage videos, Ken made a comment on how they can make their “Dungka!” performances unique whenever they perform it live. In order to do so, whenever they get to the part of the song where the background singers say “Palo! Palo!,” which loosely translates to “Hit! Hit!,” someone would do a striking motion.

What started as merely hitting the air as part of the song turned into a series of gags. In one performance, Justin mimes getting slapped by Ken as part of their Showtime performance. Little did we know that this would become funnier and funnier with each new iteration of the joke.

The growing arsenal

Every “Dungka!” performance comes with a variety of new, memeable antics from Justin and Ken. In the beginning, Justin would mime out being slapped repeatedly by Ken, notably during their Showtime appearance.

During their Toronto performance, we see Justin being responsible and cleaning up. We just hope he’d do so AFTER the performance instead. Even Pablo found the broom antics amusing!

Calgary

Justin and Ken were clearly cooking up new ideas for their Calgary performance. Literally. Their “Dungka!” performance, so the two duel one another using ladles, truly a weapon for a more civilized age.

Vancouver

When SB19 rolled into Vancouver, Justin and Ken were already thinking closer to home for inspiration. What better prop to use for disciplining than something Asians already know all too well about, than the mighty slippers?

Temecula

In Temecula, Ken was clearly thinking of defending himself more. During the performance, Justin would bring out a 2×4, but Ken would be ready. By this time, A’TIN starts to wonder what other items Justin could bring to their next performance.

Hawaii

In Hawaii, Justin probably thought his friend felt itchy, so he whipped out a nifty back scratcher to help his buddy out. You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours, as they say.

More recently, when SB19 came home from their North American tour, they attended the Acer Fest 2025 event and, wouldn’t you know it, Justin and Ken would bring their antics back home where it all began.

Singapore

During their historic and record-breaking show in Singapore, Justin clearly needed additional support. What better way to get it himself and a cane, otherwise known as a “tungkod.”

Hong Kong – Day 1 and 2

During their recent Day 1 tour of their Hong Kong Leg, Justin decided to choose chaos for his “pamalo,” although it was more like a tool to pinch Ken instead. He whips out a pair of chopsticks instead much to the delight of A’TIN in attendance.

Of course, if there’s a Day 1, there’s evidently a Day 2. During their second concert in Hong Kong, it felt like high school again when Justin brought out a towel. Aside from using it like a whip, he did do some good with is as he noticed his groupmate, Ken, was breaking a sweat. He did playfully wipe his friend’s sweat as they performed.

Japan

During the Japan leg of the Simula at Wakas World Tour, it was time for Justin to finally call for some backup. At first it was just him playfully smacking Ken with a large harisen, a giant paper fan that is usually found in Japanese slapstick films, anime, and shows. Little did Ken know that Josh would also join in on their fun and playfully smack him with one as well. This would only make the JoshTin fandom erupt in glee.

Rome, Italy – Sama sa Roma

SB19 headlined Sama Sa Roma 2025 on October 12, 2025 and fans from Italy got excited for the possibility of a future European tour as it was the first time the boys have been to Italy. During their performance of “DUNGKA!,” Justin didn’t have a prop with him, but he did have something else: an ally. When it was their cue, Josh clung to Justin, surely exciting many A’TIN who longed to see the JoshTin pairing. Justin, in humorous fashion, would wield Josh like a log as he could barely lift his bandmate to swing at Ken as Ken could hardly hide his laughter.

Doha, Qatar

While Justin was unable to bring a prop during their Dubai stop on October 11,2025, he brought props back for their Doha, Qatar performance on October 17, 2025. During their “DUNGKA!” performance, Justin brought with him a soft pillow. Maybe he just wanted to help his friend and get some better rest so he smacks Ken with one as A’TIN would be entertained by their antics.

Philippines (Fast Zone)

Fast Zone was a massive success, thanks to everyone involved. The unique event would see a fusion of music and fashion. With that in mind, Justin had the perfect prop for the event: a sewing machine. He would bring it on stage and playfully swing it at Ken. It was a fun addition to the event that brought laughs to the audience and bringing another memorable occurrence to the event.

Thailand

After SB19’s 7th year celebration with their Fast Zone concert, it was back to their globe-trotting schedule. On November 2, 2025, they performed in Thailand, specifically at centralwOrld Normally, we would report on how Justin would be bringing a prop to the stage to comically smack Ken with during their live perfomance of “DUNGKA!,” but this would be a bit different. Not only did Justin bring an inhaler as a prop, but Josh and Pablo would be in on the gag as they smack both Ken and Stell. It took them awhile, but the entire group has finally joined in the hilarious gag.

Kalimudan Festival 2025 (Philippines)

On November 19, 2025, Justin understood the assignment and brought a prop that would play into the rich culture of the region. He brought prop arnis sticks that he would use to playfully smack Ken, as it is the Philippines’ national martial arts. Who knew he could look so badass wielding a pair of those sticks?

Aurora Music Festival 2025 (Cebu, Philippines)

On November 22, 2025 while the boys were still in the Philippines, they performed in the Aurora Music Festival in Cebu where it was a celebration of song and dance that gave everyone in attendance the full-experience of music, culture, and community. They performed their hits from the “Simula at Wakas” EP which obviously included “DUNGKA!” As the second chorus was fast approaching, Justin would show his prop: an umbrella.

This was most likely due to their segment being delayed from the heavy rain. The timing couldn’t have played into their performance any better as it gave Justin a great idea for his prop. Despite the delays, SB19 performed their hearts out and gave A’TIN in attendance a night to remember.

Honor of Kings International Championship (KIC2025)

November 30, 2025 held the finals of the Honor of Kings International Championships or the KIC2025. SB19 held a special performance as they would debut their song “Burn The Flame” in front of many A’TIN and HoK gamers. In honor of the beloved game, Justin would bring on stage a plush toy of the sea creature that Zhuangzi rides on.

Zhuangzi is a support-type character from the MOBA that can remove crowd control effects from allies thanks to his ultimate skill. Justin must have wanted to remove Ken’s “tired” debuff by smacking him with the soft plushie.

Melbourne

Justin must have been feeling sporty on December 5, 2025. He brought out a tennis racket as Melbourne is famously known as the host of the Australian Open. It is an important event as it signals the beginning of the tennis season as many players of the sport begin competing and training.

Sydney

Surf’s up for SB19 as they performed in Sydney, Australia the following day on December 6, 2025. It was time for some recreational activity while in the country as Justin brings a surf board on stage. Ken would have his moment as he tries to balance and sing on it, much to the enjoyment of everyone involved and for A’TIN as they see his playful side. Sydney is home to some of famous surfing spots in the world, thus Justin’s choice of an entertaining prop.

ACON 2025

For those in attendance at ACON 2025, it shall be a career defining moment for SB19 as they stand shoulder to shoulder with other acts in Asia. During their performance, Justin would bring out a potable mini blower of sorts on stage. It has been known that SB19 have been travelling and performing non-stop lately as they were just fresh from both their Melbourne and Sydney tours the previous days. Perhaps he thought his brothers needed some freshening up and thought a nice cooling breeze would perk them up.

Closing thoughts

You can never be too sure what will happen when SB19 pulls into a new city and gives a concert like no other. What can be said, however, is that these sorts of antics will always bring a smile to A’TIN the world over, as the boys masterfully showcase their talents, charm, and comedic antics everywhere they go.

You never know what these guys will pull out next. The Simula at Wakas World Tour is still ongoing so we will have to keep updating the growing list until we have covered every leg of their journey. Stay tuned as we find out together, A’TIN!
