Filipinos, regardless of their location, tend to be predominantly religious in nature, as they hold their faith in their hearts and minds. It is because of this that Filipinos are called to participate in this year’s Sama sa Roma 2025 and a pilgrimage to the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica. While this is a spiritual experience, it will also be very special for A’TIN as SB19 have been invited to perform in this special event.
This matters a lot to A’TIN as it not only allows the faithful A’TIN to participate in the pilgrimage, they also get to see the boys do what they excel at: give the performance of a lifetime in foreign shores. Before we get into the nitty gritty, we first need to answer what exactly Sama sa Roma is.
Sama sa Roma 2025 is a week-long Faith and Culture Jubilee for Global Filipinos tied to the 2025 Jubilee Year in Rome. It includes a pilgrimage to the Holy Door and an audience at St. Peter’s Square with the Holy Father. According to their website, the official program runs from October 4 to October 12, 2025 and mixes pilgrimage, liturgies, conferences, processions, and cultural celebrations for Filipinos around the world.
On October 12, 2025, SB19 will headline the Sama sa Roma event at the Spacio Atlantico in Rome. It was recently announced on their social media pages as well as IZ Entertainment, confirming this huge event. As a bonus, the first 1,700 people who register will be admitted to the event for free, provided they register while supplies last. Lucky A’TIN need to register early and check the official website so that they can sign up.
For many A’TIN, seeing SB19 and watching them perform is almost like a religious experience. Their music and public moments often blend their creativity with deeper values that tug at the heartstrings of many fans. There have been multiple occasions where members shared moments of faith during the boys’ concert, such as one instance where Pablo led a heartfelt prayer for the flood victims during their U.S. stop.
These kinds of gestures make their presence at a faith and culture gathering feel more natural, especially knowing that the boys do respect religious practices both on stage and in private. These public expressions of practicing their faith align with Sama sa Roma’s theme of faith meeting with the Filipino culture.
This sudden detour from their “Simula at Wakas” World Tour is a blessing in disguise for the boys, as it arrived after the unexpected cancellation of their Riyadh stop. The news saddened many fans, but they held on to hope that they would one day be able to perform in their country.
Their participation in Sama sa Roma gives A’TIN a fresh, celebratory moment to rally around. This event is also historic, as it will be the first time SB19 holds a major stop in Europe, a long time coming for the boys and their fans. It is exciting news to say the least for fans who have been waiting to see their favorites perform on stage and for new fans to see them live.
A’TIN has always been speculating whether or not a possible European run was in the works. This all came to a head when SB19’s own Ken dropped a major hint or joke after their first-ever live performance on television of their collaboration song with Sarah Geronimo, “Umaaligid.” When asked where they would possibly go after their U.S. tour, Sarah asked Ken if they would probably head to Europe, as he had hinted at a yes.
Clips like that only sparked speculation and excitement among A’TIN online, and the Rome stop only adds fuel to that hopeful chatter. Remember that although the Sama sa Roma is technically a short detour from their “Simula at Wakas” World Tour, consider it a teaser to what may be an eventual, future glimpse into what a European tour would look like. Only time will tell if SB19 will finally announce an official European tour leg.
Closing thoughts
SB19 has once again been blessed with another opportunity to make themselves known, but this time, for a good cause. Their presence at the Sama sa Roma event will bring many of the faithful A’TIN who will attend the pilgrimage and also stop by to watch their performance.
Remember that for this special event, it isn’t just about attending a concert to watch our mahalima give it their all on stage, but also to practice our faith and to solemnly celebrate the Jubilee Year 2025 together. We must be thankful that the boys are doing the Lord’s work and continue to inspire many others to be disciplined, respectful individuals, and how they use their God-given talents to uplift the people around them.
